Been a rough start to the New Year but I started working on this New Year's Eve. In a nod to one of my favorite anime Cowboy Bebop I created a character for this image based on Spike Spiegel and his ship the Swordfish.
Here we have Solomon Ekips the hitman and partner and mechanic Francine meeting a climate for payment for his latest mark. Solomon hair looks rather unkempt. His striped suit seems to compliment cigar. Francine is rather diminutive alien female whose height often gets her mistaken for a child. She lifts her goggles with losing her grip on her monkey wrench. Their client an alien wearing a heavy cloak and environmental equipment seemingly floating over the surface of the landing pad. It's accompanied by a robot wearing a top hat.
Solomon: Francine can you check the payment make sure it's short and with no surprises.
Francine: I know the routine just keep an eye on them while I do my job.
The alien says nothing in response but nods toward the robot assistant.
The Robot: My master says he can assure the amount is exactly the agreed upon.
The robot slowly begins to open the case. Francine instinctively slows her pace as Solomon grips his pistol slightly. The robot's only reaction seems to be angry look in its digital eyes continues to undo the latches revealing as stated only cash inside the case. Francine no stranger to this line work still let's a sigh of relief. She uses her acute eyesight to quickly the count and inspect the bills.
Francine: Okay Ekips it's all there, no bugs or booms. A pleasure doing business with you Mr. Blums.
Solomon: Don't expect a verbal response, let's go I don't want to run into any patrols in the area.
The alien seemingly satisfied with the encounter nods and turns and begins to glide away leaving a slight bit of exhaust from his respirator. The robot uses his mechanical arms to tip his hat and follow suit.
The Robot: Have a pleasant evening Mr. Ekips.
Francine: What no well wishes for me?!
The Robot: No
