My fantastic psychotherapist has retired. The farewell was, both for Mieke and for me, rather emotional. I had made a small work of art for her, bought a gift and, on beautiful mail paper, written a kind of farewell letter. What was so special before I left, Mieke hugged me for many minutes, and kept me close to her. Nothing was said, but it was an intensely warm and long farewell to two souls who have a special place in each other's hearts over the years. Here the kind of farewell letter translated into English.: You have taken the little girl to hand seen and confirmed her values time after time. You saw the teenager's grief you took part in it you were a sharer of her. You saw the gifts in Jacomiena her strength her creativity. All these parts you've confirmed them and made stronger. You learned her to get up against the injustice, and against the false feeling of guilt that was planted in her. Suppressed emotions of old pain, that she should never have believed You revealed it You made me feel love as it should have been gave me care embrace safety, confirmed my inner core the divine being that there should never have been there. We could laugh together I a bit cried ate far too sweet bonbons drunken coffee drunk tea. Thanks for everything you gave me. Dear, precious Mieke. I take all this forever with me. You gave yourself And I was allowed to receive what more can someone desire. I could be vulnerable and say everything (which was on my heart) to you. There was honesty and respect. You taught me to remain silent Also in silence, yes, just in that silence to be there. Dear Mieke, I experienced you as a gift from heaven. ------------------------------------------------------- Original in Dutch: Je hebt kleine Miesje bij de hand genomen haar waarden gezien en bevestigd keer op keer. Je zag het verdriet van de tiener nam eraan deel je was een deelgenoot van haar. Je zag de gaven in Jacomientje haar kracht haar creativiteit. Al deze delen je hebt ze bevestigd en sterker gemaakt. Je leerde haar opstaan tegen het onrecht tegen vals schuldgevoel dat in haar was geplant. Verdrongen emoties van oud zeer, dat ze nooit had mogen geloven haalde je boven. Je liet mij liefde voelen zoals deze had moeten zijn gaf mij zorg omarming veiligheid, bevestigde mijn innerlijke kern het Goddelijke wezen dat er in wezen nooit had mogen zijn. We konden samen lachen ik soms huilen aten veel te zoete bonbons dronken koffie dronken thee. Dank voor alles wat je mij hebt gegeven. Lieve, dierbare Mieke. Ik neem dit alles voor altijd met mij mee. Je gaf jezelf en ik mocht ontvangen wat kan een mens meer verlangen. Ik mocht kwetsbaar zijn en alles (wat op mijn hart lag) tegen je zeggen. Er was eerlijkheid en respect. Je leerde mij zwijgen er ook in stilte ja, juist in die stilte er te mogen zijn. Lieve Mieke, Ik heb jou ervaren als een Geschenk uit de hemel.
