Probably so! There was something I recall reading about ducks (and some other species) being able to sleep even with part of their brain active for threats - sleeping with one eye open

A most interesting and beautiful capture! This couple may well be taking some rest but they also remain on the look-out for a possible predator, as they are pretty much vulnerable, being on this branch.
