my mother had an evergreen tree near her house and during snowstorms the branches would be on the ground from the weight. all I had way back then was a box camera. digital cameras had not been realized yet

Strong weather for sure can wreak a bit havoc on the plants but pine trees do for the most part hold pretty stable (beyond a few lost branches). One of the few that remain fairly green during the winter so beautiful to see.
Would be cool to see your photos from your box camera, if you still have them :)
