Description
My 7th fanart of the notorious Japanese/German "tsundere" character from the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV series, the "Second Child", arrogant and famous for teasing and verbally assaulting people. A classic stereotype of those who don't know how to handle emotions, while being tragic enough not to live long enough to learn it. It's also another of these shows where multi-million dollar mechas can only be piloted by immature teenagers because we would have no reason to watch it otherwise.
Not my favorite Anime show, though its mecha art design has revolutionized the industry ever since, and also pushed the limits of censorship for what could be shown in an Anime show until then. It's one of these shows where the ending was so convoluted that later it had to be rewritten so people could make sense of it. So even if you didn't like the story, you will still remember the characters and the revolutionary mecha designs. For one reason or another, it remains as one of the most influential shows of its time, with some of the most iconic posters from studio Gainax. Image composed with Stable Diffusion and Paintshop.

Thank you! It comes to no surprise that in Japan, they call the 80s-90s as the "Golden Age" of Anime. ^___^

I don't know much about anime. I am familiar with a lot of Studio Ghibli works. As to what I think of as Anime, I've seen all the Ghost in the Shell related stuff, Cowboy Bebop, and a few others. Neon Genesis Evangelion is now on my list of things to look at based on this art and what you have to say about it, Ken. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Molly! One could say NGE is a "classic" of its period and had a heavy influence on all other mecha shows that came after. Mecha design used to be blocky until then, where the new NGE sleek "organic" mecha designs have revolutionized the Anime industry, setting a new standard. Storywise, not my favorite from studio Gainax, especially when it comes to the protagonist - Shinji. His whining and crying about everything undeserves the role he play in this story. It's a slow cook, you have to be patient. You may come to hate Shinji, but you WILL remember everything and everybody else. Beautiful and creative design oozes out of every corner, which explains why so many NGE posters can still be found everywhere after this long.
