Description

Modelling/rendering: Strata 3D Pro 3.71 (not 3.8, which has photon based caustics) Post work (horizon blur, and optimizing): Ulead PhotoImpact 8 Yes, it CAN be done. Not pefect, but, convincing enough, I think. No tricks with materials, light angles, etc... just using Radiosity rendering, here. Would certainly be better if 3.8 for Windows came out already, but, that's another story altogether. :) BTW, the gradiant glass is a "Color Spectrum" material (a feature available only in the "Pro" version) that I made to add some much needed color to the scene, to prove that this caustics/refraction thing isn't only a Black and White phenomenon, hence the "rainbow" caustic effect you see around it. Rainbow caustics is something 3.8 can't do, I hear. That is... until I get my greedy little hands on it, ... :)
