Description

This is a fantasy painting made with acrylic paint and felt tips on a canvas board. I've painted it 'thoughtless', although I always think a lot while painting, but not about what I'm painting. ;-) Dear friends, thank you very much for your look.

Hello, Jacomina...I'm only back for one comment per gallery, this morning. I apologize for that, but I've needed a long rest. But I've seen all your images (incl the beautiful gorilla, the very expressive accordion player, that beautiful church that seems named after your husband, etc.) So forgive me for only commenting on one, this morning. A couple of months from now, I'll come back for a longer session.

I loved this painitng as soon as you posted it. I love your physical art. And I can see animals in here too---an owl, a big fish, a strange wilted mountain lion (or goat or sheep), and so on. I love how everything "drips down the canvas". As if all the animals melted, and you'll have to put them back in the freezer. This is a festival of subconscious creatures. And your palette is in purple-browns, and crimsons and whites and some reds and salmon colors...a nighttime scene with macabre creatures swimming and undulating together...

We can feel the canvas board too---it has a real presence. And I like that the image emerges out of the dark, as if it were deep in the ocean (where there is no light). I love it. It's like a little party of creatures gathered for a macabre dance. Wonderful and creative, and even spooky, Jacomina. I hope you're well, and I hope your early summer is treating you and Karel well. Much healing to you, and love and strength, I'll be back for more later in the summer. Much health to you.
