I know I have never seen snow, nor experienced winter like you guys in the northern hemisphere but I do know that this place in not a swimming hole :)

Not for people anyways! Ducks like to swim around in the water in winter to keep a tiny patch like this open so they don't freeze. Still VERY cold for them though! But flowing water is important to survival in the winter
