I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

I'm with you Rod - Ai is a wonderful; tool an a lot of folks do very well with it, but I like the old fashion way even though we are often using (and tweaking, retexturing etc.) content from other creators.

That's part of what I love about creating this art.. Getting in and fiddling with the "nuts and bolts," doing the post in Photoshop, and so on. For me, it's at least half of the fun!

Such a beautiful and charming girl. Love your style, dear friend. Wish I had a fraction of your talent.

Aww.... You have me blushing now... 😁 Thank you so much!

I like the hands on and play approach myself and will continue to do so. Not against AI, just not my thing after trying it.
Love your simple pinup and that texture really did her outfit justice. Excellent work :)

I won't deny that AI images look good, but there is no effort or talent put into pushing the "Make Art" button. There's nothing to admire, or comment on, no encouragement to a fellow artist to give. I should not have to mention all the stolen art and copyright violations that go into the program spitting out that instant art. In the end, it's a lazy cheat. I'd rather spend time looking at amateur crayon drawings. At least someone put effort into creating something. There's a bit of a living soul that went into it.
I'm finally in my own digs here, with a decent laptop. I need a separate drive (not an SSD) that I can load all my content and graphics programs on, and a drawing tablet before I can start make anything.

Right on, good sir! As a form of "protest" for all the AI posts, I might even go to the extent of digging out some pencils now and then. 😁
It would be so awesome to see your work again, buddy! And with the popularity of SSDs, hard drives have really had some decent prices. Externals are relatively cheap, and internal drives are even cheaper. I have 3 of those USB drive docks that you can just plug an internal drive into, and they're great for archiving / backing up stuff, and still having it easily accessible.

Outstanding pinup and excellent commentary! :)

She looks pretty good and sexy like all your other girls brother, but what shall I do else for the moment as playing around with AI, just with a little difference: I don't write him down what I will have, I throw him an older work of art of mine and then let AI process it according to my mood. So I have e.g. also created all my hobbits and since I have big problems with my eyes at the moment, I can spare them this way!

PS. Great new about our dear Mike, I'm happy that he's fine! 😄👍

It's just something else to play with, until Skynet is fully online and operational. LOL. Great work on Red up there! I like it!

I like the texture on the catsuit a lot. BB was one of those really great creative people who shared a lot with the community. I hope I can do that when I grow up.
As for AI generated "artwork", not my thing. In fairness to AI artists, visual artists in other media were pretty scornful of CG generated images with posing software like Poser and DAZ Studio (some still are). I maintain what I do is art (not particularly good but art all the same). But... it's fair to say someone who creates all the images from thin air with a pencil or paintbrush is doing something on a whole different level than what I am doing. It seems each tool takes you a bit further from the subject of inspiration: hand produced images are closer to art than my computer generated images than images created by an algorithm I gave a prompt to. Having just read all I've typed I'm guessing it will make no sense to anyone else... >.<

I love a lot o the work that i being created in ai but I understand your points as well. All very valid in their own right! We all have a purpose on this world and if it weren't for the diversity of each and every one of us, it would be a very boring existence. At this point in the game, I'm not sure where I stand regarding ai. I see as each week and actually, each day, more and more sophisticated work is flowing out of the ai stream. Why now I see animation is being done at least with a characters head. They look at you and blink their eyes and move them from side to side and even turn their heads a little from side to side. I feel fairly certain it won't be very long before the entire body can be animated with just the prompts that now only create a single image! Then there will be another explosion in the artistic stream. Anyone's dreams can become realities on any computer screen of smart tv! It is quite frightening to think where it will all lead! I'm not sure I'm ready for it. I have to admit that I am curious about it. I have dabbled just a little with stable diffusion and posted a few of those results on DA, but I'm not tempted to put them here on this site. I will try to remain faithful to my old standard, Poser. I've created and posted 5000 images here on this site over the past many years and the old (very old) saying goes, 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks,' so at least on this site, I will abide by that saying. And now that I have rambled on way to long, I will sign off for now. Love your beautiful red garbed lady! She sparkles with much enthusiasm! Very much charm and a wonderful pose! Bravo! Well done, Rod! Way to go!
