Description
Numerous tales are told of Bóann, the Goddess of Brú na Bóinne (the 5,200 year old stone tomb known today as Newgrange).
One of these is the creation of the river which bears her name, the Bóinn (or Boyne), in County Meath. The tale tells how Bóann approached the magical Well of Segais (the well of the forest) which was surrounded by nine magic hazel-trees, whose nuts fed the salmon of knowledge. Bóann challenged the power of the well causing the waters to surge up violently and rush down to the sea, creating the Boyne and causing her own demise.

She has a classic Irish beauty about her that I really enjoyed upon first viewing of the image, Joe. Thanks for sharing the story which had me poking around the internet learning of Bóann, the Goddess of Brú na Bóinne, and Newgrange. The dark background and subtle lighting really convey a mythic feel to the picture. Thanks for sharing, I definitely enjoyed viewing! =)

What a great looking image you created here, until today I knew nothing about the Goddess of Brú na Bóinne. I'm glad that you are finally back my friend, without AI or with AI! Please note that from time to time I also load up some of my 3d graphics (DAZ)!
