Description

Made for Bryce forum January Challenge, New Beginning. For those who don't know, the Vikings did the first raid in Ireland in AD 795, on a monastery near Dublin. It certainly was a new beginning. Technicalities, ownership and so on: The drakkar is a model I downloaded from somewhere. I have no idea from where and no repeated searches could find her again. I textured her in Bryce, reefed up the sail, added a deck and a dragonhead, created the oars and gave her a crew. The sky is a photo from animax.it. The land is a couple of DEMs of Grand Canyon. Finally, the Celtic cross was made by John Henry. Free from http://www.reebosmeshyard.com/ I gave it a different texture in Bryce.

Nice job. The celtic cross was a navigation device that predated the sextant.

I have a Scandinavian friend who says that the people in Dublin are just a bunch of ship-wrecked Norwegians! I really like this scene, Excellent sky!
