Description
Jaimie began to chase Jerry, who dropped the pitcher where it smashed into scattered pieces with spraying water. Jaimie jumped over the water and shards, never giving up the chase, Soon he caught Jerry pool side.
"You're not planning to push me in that pool,...are you?" Jerry asked, worriedly glancing at the water.
Jaimie held his arm firmly and began to slowly turn him so his back was to the water. "I should," Jaimie mused. "But,...you are wearing your new clothes."
"Yes, I am." Jerry nodded. "Just cut off the tags this morning. And,...And they look good on me, don't they?"
"Indeed they do. Shame to mess them up." Jaimie leaned his forehead against Jerry's. "Tell me. Do you ever plan to wash these new clothes?"
"Well,....sure. I mean, of course. Just...not...today. Not while I'm still wearing them."
Jaimie nodded his head. "Makes perfect sense."
Jerry signed relief a little. ":Yes. Yes!"
"But....you know what they say."
"What?...I'm not sure what you..."
"You know that saying..."There no time like the present'" And then he pushed him.
Jerry fell backwards into the water.
There was plunk.
And then a splash.
Moments later Jerry surged to the surface. "Gosh! That's cold!" he exclaimed, as he pushed his wet hair back from his face. His teeth chattering a little.
"Not as cold as the ice water," Jaimie was quick to point out.
Jerry glanced down at himself as he stood in chest high water. "And my clothes! Look at my clothes."
Jaimie looked. "They're wet," he stated the obvious. "Still look good on you though."
Jerry made a face. "And my shoes. Look at my shoes. Do you know how much I spent on these shoes?"
Jaimie peered through the ripples of water at the shoes. "They're wet too. I don't suppose they're water proof."
"Really?"
"No? Pity. But I guess it really doesn't matter," he said with a shrug. "I plan to keep you...Barefoot away."
