Real artists are being mocked, exploited and stolen from. NO, it's NOT OKAY to try to imitate an artist, AI will try to imitate even the artist's signature which is illegal because AI cannot tell it's a signature.

AFAIK forging a signature is a crime in all 50 U.S. states, and is considered a felony, but then you'll always have users from other countries who will say: "You have no power to tell me what I can or cannot do in my country."

AI art is a copy machine with a text prompt for input. Type in what you want to steal from someone else's work, and presto....
People used to go to jail for forging artwork and paintings.

because some of them are now posting in the Poser and DS galleries and claiming that there work was done on those programs and zbrush etc. etc. Plus it's flooding the galleries with art that no one really had a hand in.
