This is good. You sut need a little more ooomph to make it great. Consider duplicating your main terrain and clipping it down to beach level and addding a beach sand preset. Typically islands have a reef out from a couple of yards to a couple hundred yards from shore, so adding another terrain out around the island and making it slightly higher than the main water plane with the same preset will give you more realism.

Great Start!
Try playing with the Tree Lab is you have Bryce 5.0.
Look modeling tutorials at various 3D sites. You can get alot on how to really make the most of the Material Editor and other features.
