Description
My "Spiders" wouldn't be complete without including the common cellar spider (aka Daddy Longlegs)-- probably the most found and populous spider in the world.
It is found in every continent in the world except Antarctica. In areas of human habitation, they construct webs in undisturbed areas in buildings such as high corners, attics and cellars, hence the common name "cellar spider". The web has no adhesive properties and instead relies on its irregular structure to trap prey. These webs are constructed in dark and damp recesses such as in caves, under rocks and loose bark, and in abandoned mammal burrows.
Although they do eat insects, certain species of these spiders invade webs of other spiders to eat the host, the eggs, or the prey. In some cases the spider vibrates the web of other spiders, mimicking the struggle of trapped prey to lure the host closer.

I actually saw a Daddy Longlegs vibrating a web, but I had no idea that was what it was doing. Very interesting information & amazingly realistic Daddy Longlegs.

I saw in the fascinating documentary "Wild Great Britain" a spider that lives underwater in a bubble of air held within its spherical web. And I believe David Attenborough documented a South American spider that could sail a single thread to the farther shore of a river and then elaborate a suspended web strong enough to capture small birds.
They are fascinating creatures, but they are really creepy and therefore should all be put to death immediately. Way too many eyes!
