Description

Actually, there were more, but strangely, they "vapourized" while rendering...

Good use of the metaball tut. You're using 8? Then the disarrearing may be due to the post effects in the render settings. Turn 'em off and try again...

I'm giving this an Excellent, and not only because I'm starving right now. No, it's because it looks like you're using the Translucent shader, one of the first to show work with it.

Not metaballs...models... Looks like a tile in the bump of Mr. Bear in the right front.

Same vaporizing thing happened to me when I rendered the C4D-Treffe AdventKalendar cookies scene file over Christmas. Strange how that happens when you're hungry at work...

Lovely stuff. Could be a photo. Another one for the 3D World gallery.

Sorry, CB, no Translucent in this, as this picture was done November, before the release of that shader. the effect was done with a material that only uses Luminance, Transparency and Reflection and a combination of SLA shaders as described in the C4D Forum here (there is a link to it, search for "Venus Blue". And yes, there is part of the Metaball-Tutorial in it - I was experimenting with Metaballs as the Manuals arrived and adapted the tutorial into the the shape, and somehow I ended up with the bears. Then I added a hdri-fake and so the picture came to be...

I love the image! My only comments would be that they look at little more like glass/perspex in texture rather than solide jelly/sugar? Maybe a little 'turbulance' in the material mix (bump) would help? Still, nice work!
