Description
Over 2 days render time, but the result is a bit sobering.
Not half as impressive as I imagined.
The hair shells react a little strange to the atmosphere box to...any ideas how to avoid this?

Sometimes Iray does weird transparency to things, especially if it thinks it's out of vram. I have to bring some images into PS, fill a blank layer black, move the black layer down to the bottom layer, then flatten image. Had to do it with the image I just posted titled "I Spent How Much?" 300 second render. In Render Settings>Filtering>Post Denoiser Available (ON)>Post Denoiser Enable (ON)>Post Denoiser Start Iteration 0 (zero)>Post Denoiser Denoise Alpha (OFF). Give that a try. I'm going to try disabling CPU fallback tomorrow. I had it set to just 4 cores but it could be causing problems. Edit>Preferences>Interface>Texture Resources: Make sure that's not set too high. Wish I could be more help. Iray ya know...but I like a bit of film grain for that cinematic look, before everything went digital. Can always do that in post though.

Oh sounds interesting. I don't know much about these things and I'm afraid I'll just be changing settings without knowing exactly what they do.^^ Funny fakt...the last days I saw another render from a great artist where exactly the same halo appears around this hair. so maybe it's a setting in the hair that causes this phenomenon.
