Description
Halloween isn't just about trick or treating.
It's also about remembering the departed;
visiting their graves, laying flowers, lighting candles in remembrance, saying quiet prayers...
and leaving offerings to placate the unquieter spirits.
Little Morticia doesn't like flowers or prayers.
But she does like candles.
This year she's using a special* candle to see if she can wake up an unquiet spirit.
She's brought her baby brother Damien** along, just in case the unquiet spirit is hungry.
As a sort of offering.
*Just in case you can't work it out - it's a stick of dynamite...
**His name's not really Damien - she just likes calling him that.
And she also likes painting his face with freaky clown makeup.
And hiding him in unusual places
Little Morticia also likes collecting bugs.
The two extra pictures were me playing with an idea for Little Morticia leaving out a snack for Santa Cthlaus...

Beautiful image that perfectly illustrates the story being told. The story is very intriguing! I'd like to know if Little Morticia will succeed in her intent.

Thanks. I think the picture came first, and then I had to work out what was going on. I'm fairly sure that Little Morticia managed to wake up a few unquiet spirits, but things didn't quite go to plan. Damien ate them all.

I think he was sick shortly after eating them... and that's the origin story of the cupboard goblins

I like all the content and the lighting. I think I would have framed it a bit differently since Morticia and Damien are supposed to be the main characters. Very nicely rendered. =)

I agree that it's not framed too well, but I think I was actually doing a scene of only a candlelit grave and a building - Little Morticia just walked into shot when I started rendering. She's like that ! :o)
