for the earth, i think you need two more spheres for atmosphere and clouds.. and for the sun, i don't think you need the rays..

Good effort but I would suggest a few things. Up the amount of polys on the earth since they are visible at the moment. The planets look oval...or is that this monitor? The lightsource looks wrong. It's hitting both bodies at contradicting angles since if the sun was the other side of the bodies then there would be less light visible on them to the viewer. As it stands it looks like the sun is actually between the Earth and moon...maybe...or is the sun in front? if so the sun is too small!
