Description
One of a series of Americana images, generated in Midjourney, evocative of the reality and struggle of Americans, the 1930s dustbowl, broken families, dealing with adversity, resilient.
Hope you like it.

I don't think they were sad all the time. There's a cool tune by Nanci Griffith, "This Old Town," if you need some more perspective. Here's a piece:
Somewhere in the distance The city lights do shine The sidewalks gleam with neon dreams That call from time to time And when my children's children ask me Why I didn't go I'll say—the heart of any town Are the people that you've known And they'll always call you home
[Chorus] And this old town was built by hand In the dustbowl of the motherland There must be rock beneath the sand I'll be damned—this town still stands
