Description

Yes, it's an oldie. Again. 2015. Poser 9 or PP2014, not sure which. This is one my favourites. Not so much for the picture, but for the following bizarre stream of thought it triggered when I originally uploaded it... Just for the record I have absolutely no idea who Joe is. The title was an afterthought that popped into my head when I was originally uploading the coloured render at RDNA. All I know is that this fella here seems to have some bad news for poor old Joe. But maybe Joe's a really nasty piece of work, and this guy's just delivering the proverbial 'what's coming to him'? But then, what if Joe is actually the fella in the picture? That opens up a whole new slew of interpretations - one that just sprang to mind is that the title's just been spoken in a Marlene Dietrich voice. Not by guy-in-the-picture Joe - that would be a bit weird even for me... LOL (but see below) And what if the guy in the picture is Joe, but so's the guy he's pointing the pifflegun at? And what if it's the off-screen Marlene Dietrich voice saying "Goodbye Joe" but she's some sort of monstrous cthulhoid alien? Or maybe the title-writer mistranscribed and the guy in the picture's saying "Goodbye Jo" to the Marlene Dietrich voice. Or he might even be taking the piss and mimicking her? And what if... ...etc... (originally posted at RDNA 27 Oct 2015) You might recognize this guy who may or may not be Joe as he's appeared in a couple of other pictures here, and another My reference(s): 2015-10-28 Goodbye Joe (PZ3x3)

Thanks. I like the monochrome one better - there's something about low key black and white

Since I got lost in the flow of your thoughts, I can only comment on the images. The first in particular, in which black and white gives a statue-like appearance. And at this point it could be Joe Petrosino... But Petrosino has assonance with stone only in my language (stone = pietra, pietroso, petroso - Petrosino)

Most native English speakers would give up on my stream of conciousness about who Joe is ! Petr- for stone occurs in English too, a little bit - petrified/petrification (turning to stone), petrol/petroleum (derived from Latin rock oil I believe), etc. And that's reminded me of Petrovic, the villain in 1982's La Balance, one of my favourite French cop movies.

Hmmm... Joe Petrovic ?
