I love this photo too! Sorry, again I couldn't resist the temptation to flip the image: I wanted to see if the Belted Kingfisher became a bat 😁 The Belted Kingfisher has remained a Belted Kingfisher (indeed very funny because it is perfectly perpendicular), but looking at the upside-down photo gives a very stimulating sense of vertigo!

No, wasn't the easiest. They are very skittish and I don't see them too often. And when I do they are usually very, very far away. I was lucky this one was a little braver

Beautiful bird, I've never seen one so they must not be from here...great capture! He has a really long beak and he is the same color as the apts that I used to manage:)
