I've been doing the CGI modelling and texturing bit for a few years now on and off. Â
I come from a physical model building and painting background (miniatures, some sculpting painting, etc).   That's taught me a lot about how to get a certain look out of a certain technique or texture.    A lot of that carries over into 3d modelling and texture building.
My day job is a soul-sucking piece of [expletive deleted] but it pays the bills.  But I still need to do more and give something back.    So these boards are kind of an outlet for that side of myself.
Â
I love the post apocalyptic and survival horror genres, as is evident in most of my goodies.  The cheesier the movie the better.

What wonderful pieces these are sweetie, yes I do not wish for this to be. Desecrating our sacred site. My Ancestors are watching and I leave the future to them, we cannot alter the future only the space we inhabit now, may we all come together to make a better world for our Grandchildren.xx 🖤💛❤️

Oh...I thought I saw these images on another site but it was here...lol
I was so impressed with the 2nd last image I tried in vain to create it in Daz. I posted the result (Sunday Sunset #7)
This is truly a stunning series and being Aussie it was fantastic to see these. Gorgeous work :)

Sometimes I ask myself why such renders and especially such render series receive so little attention here. Horrible poser renders get more attention and more stars. That's why I rarely post here and vote even less. DAZ renders don't seem to be very welcome here, but that's understandable given the dispute between Poser and DAZ.

One reason is that they temporarily allowed AI renders, then they stopped. Ayers Rock is an old AI render, and generally speaking AI renders are just more realistic and visually appealing than straight-up Poser or even Daz Studio pics, unless you really know what you're doing, which a few artists on this board can achieve. About the horrible poser renders, I don't really see it quite that way. There are a lot of people out there getting their feet wet, learning about art and such, who have varying degrees of skill. I have a couple of ones in my own gallery that I consider pretty bad, either from back in the day or that I'm just using to drive the AI engine to replicate (See Garrett, Dark Champion, or 3 Sisters fr'instance). I'll comment and like if I think it has potential and visual appeal in some way, but yeah, I don't post on many either.
As for Poser vs Daz and their dispute, I've got my opinions but they don't really matter. I don't own either company so how they want to duke it out in the marketplace is up to them (hint: they're handling it badly).

@ kalebdaark
I learned MAX (start 2..5 intil 6) with the student version and spent 2 years in a company that was privately unaffordable at the time and joined there as soon as Poser came along. When DAZ came along I watched it for a year and then started doing it. At some point Poser was no longer available in software stores here and I switched to DAZ because you could use Poser files there. Then online trading was also possible here and not just limited to the US, but DAZ became more user-friendly and I stopped using Poser. As far as AI is concerned - DAZ uses AI, but didn't make it public, only became aware of it through an article before the hype with AI really started. As long as I still recognize AI in images, it is insignificant to me. There is also the difference between just rendering and postwork with PS and other image editing programs. No matter which program you use - it should be fun. I just like pictures where I really like the idea, even if there are still problems with the implementation, but I also give reasons for it (but not in this gallery).
