Description

This one is nearly done apart from some birds, loose rubish in the parking area and maybe a train in the distance. What do you think so far? Textures in photoshop, all rendering in LW 6.5 no post work.

Looks great! Perhaps a few clouds in the sky and a texture on that very far building in the back that is aligned with apartment. It looks really wonderful though.

That's very realistic, especially due to the textures !

Man, you got skillz! I love this one. It gives me a "real" feeling for what it must be to live there. Great work.

Well here goe's my 0.02 cents worth, Your balkeney's are a little to narrow you could widden them a little more, The pipe going down the wall needs some supports, The brick wall needs a couple of expansion joints for expansion and contraction, The steps could be a little more streched, there to steep and, well they need hand rails, the door needs a door knob, The walls of your building need a couple of expansion joints, the railing along the tracks could be a liitle darker and rustier,The cable going to the building needs a little more droop in it, if it goes aways to the pole, Also your wire is good, But the building code, well you need to put a weather head as they callabove the building, it then you fasten it to the building then you have a meter box with the meter, need a meter, Were is the phone line ? need a phone cable and phone box, A couple of phone cables running around the building, The building needs some ventallation vents,Maybe a spinner or two on the roof, the shinny ones that spin by the heat rising thru the attic, Selfpowered ones, Then your roof needs a water drain pipe to drain the rain water away, Other than that This is a real awesome piece of work the lighting is great and the parking lot looks real, actually i thought it was real, I looked at it for a long time and wow its a work of real art. i am really impressed fantastic job so far.......;0]

Well from one who just sees the art for what it is, I think this is incredible...I thought it was a photo at first, and only because it's in the Lightwave gallery do I know otherwise...Awesome render...

This is awesome work. The modeling is absolutely beautiful and your textures are fantastic. I have to say that zapper1977 is really nitpicking because this is very, very good. (And he does point out a few details that wouldn't hurt). Lighting is also very, very good. Please keep us posted on updates.

Yea, Zapper is being very critical. That's ok though. I'm sure he's trying to help. My only suggestion other than the aboved mentioned, would be to perhaps focus a bit more on the foreground objects. They are very well modeled, textured and lit. The background distracts from the fine work you've done here. Very well done!

Thank you for the comments everyone. There is still a hell of a lot to do on this one, folowed by a high res final render. I'm splitting the scene into three parts for rendring now and that takes a full 2 hours to render out each layer. The high res will actually show a lot of details that are lost in pixel size and the jpg compression akes it even worse. I am currently adding a more detailed kerb and some loose dirt, gravel to the lot as well as a lot of the bits and pieces mentioned by zapper. They don't look wrong although building codes vary so much around the world and over the years. This one is actually a concrete slab roof that was pretty common for this type of building in the 60-70's. No attic or ventilation. Waterproofing was done via a plastic membrane layer in the concrete! As for the power line, it is quite curved but I have adjusted the angle to show it a bit more. When I modelled it, I didn't realise it went almost straight to the camera and lost all of the 3rd dimension perception. There is also a meter box and conduits fitted on the new version as well as widened balconies- after putting a deck chair on the lower balcony, there was no room to move. There are also some small louvre windows on the aley wall for the WC's and clamps on those drain pipes. No crits are ignored, i just can't do them all at once...Keep them coming guys its a great help. Roux
