I remember when they came out, I was 5 years old in 1965! My father bought a brand-new 1965 Chevrolet BelAir 4-door sedan in baby
green!!! But when we were at the dealership, there was a "Tornado" sitting there, and my father made a point of telling us what it was. This is a gorgeous grouping, and I had a little metal die-cast toy car (Matchbox size) in the same color as the one on the left! I might even still have it, buried in one of my boxes in the spare bedroom.

Many thanks for the comment! Yes, they were a pretty scarce commodity that first year! I remember one of my neighbors, a rather well to do farmer, bought on, but I don't remember seeing him drive it much, now that you mention it.
