Great views!

Interesting and beautiful photos! Yachts scattered about on the water. I wonder how does the owner get on board the yacht furthest from shore?

I saw a few ways

Sounds like a great quiet place to me 👍🙋♂️

Very interesting photo of all those boats. I assume you need a boat to get to your boat. I can imagine someone saying which one is yours, and the owner saying the boat way over there. Nice set of photos.

Yes, there is a shuttle boat to transfer people to shore and back, but some tow a rowboat, too.

wow, another upload from you! Always a great moment...Isn't this the place you visited a year ago (or 2 years ago---sorry, a senior moment!)---You visited for a short time, and took all these wonderful pictures? RPort is about 30 minutes from Boston, right? And I think about the same from Maine? I loved Rockport---and Gloucester, right, I mean it's just next door if I recall. I'm so glad you could get away...it's such a wonderful craggy place...
First, these gotta be seen large: The first is a serene shot of those beautiful boats, where those blue tarps are wonderful accents. And I love the rock "wall" that separates the town from the water. The hue here is brooding, which is perfect for that area. I always thought the upper atlantic coast brooded...(it's so stormy and moody). I'm a midwesterner, but when I was there, I felt like smoking an old briar pipe and wearing my knee-high boots, and reminiscing about the good old days on the sea...
The second is what we used to call the Monet Haystacks of the northern n.england coast: big sleeping bears. Such fine detail on those stacks of seaweed and whatever else those are. (Fine detail for a phone, too!) Don't they get big tides there? Or is that further north (down-east)...I just remember that when I walked away from these coasts, and came back 3 hours later, the whole ocean floor was exposed and you coulda had a poker game on it...in any case, I love the shot.
Finally, the third shot is the curving coastline, with those wonderful rocks as a sea-wall. (Wasn't it some n.england poet who spoke of "farming rocks" up there?) And you caught those lone rocks in the foreground---they're not the usual n.england kind (are they tourists? go home, you lugs!) And look at the hue of this shot: Soooooo Northern NEngland. Love the shot, Barb. I never tire of your photos, and of your photos of your state...
Btw, you gave elleque 3 ways of crossing the water. Since this comment is longer than the collected works of Marcel Proust, here are my additions. Here goes...
Great to see photos from you Barb---but it's great to see uploads from you period. I may post a piece on NEngland one of these days, as your posts have brought me back. (I have to jump start my muse which is presently on vacation in the bahamas.) Hope you're well, and same for your mom and all your loved ones; and I hope the heat has been merciful to you all. Have a great rest of the summer! Glad you could get away, you deserve it...and Rockport looks as rustic, ornery, moody and beautiful as it always does. Love the photos. Take good care!

Thanks for the detailed comment! Yes, I've been to Rockport before, I like it, it's slow and easy and walkable.

These are all lovely photos, Barb! I think Mark covered everything pretty eloquently (doesn't he always? 😁), much better than I, LOL!
These all have a really calming feel - unlike most of the bodies of water on the other side of the country.. I need to get out with my camera more - if it ever gets below 100+ degrees again..

It looks like a very nice place to be and have fun ! Great captures ! Congrats !

best marina capture this year
Wolfenshire
It would take some skill to get yourself out of there if you wanted to go sailing. I can imagine one of those buildings is a restaurant with a big stack of pancakes waiting, followed by a day on the water sailing. The perfect life.

From looking at each of these three captures, I would go as far as to say that you did have a great time in this beautiful and peaceful harbour over the past weekend.

People stay mostly the same, and I expect our oneness with Nature will always dictate paths available to us. Choice is the key, and hopefully with knowledge, which is fundamental to most everything.
A few of us remember writing on the "wall", others recall Chat City on another band, and most of us remember a few of the artists passing through.
