Description
IAI Kfir C.7 on display. Well, this was developed from the former Nesher and the Nesher was a copy of the French Dassault Mirage 5. The Atar engine was replaced by the American J79 and some other improvements were made. The aircraft in this picture is loaded with maximum load. All hardpoints are occupied. Under the outer hardpoints are Shafrir 2 missiles.
Made with Unreal Engine.

Some years after Switzerland bought the Mirage IIIS and IIIRS, they invited some pilots of the Israeli AF for an exchange of experience with the Mirage in air combat. The swiss pilots learned that they could push the limits of the Mirage III much farther, than Dassault officially permitted. The Israelis proposed the Swiss, to try to install tiny stabilizer surfaces on the very tip of the nose cone, where the pitot tube emerged, to improve the stability in high alpha situations and to tighten the turn radius. Nobody of the Swiss really knew, what these little surfaces could do and how much the performance of the Mirage gained. Later, the Swiss AF modified their Mirage IIIS and IIIRS with fixed canard wings behind the jet inlets according to how the Israelis did with their Kfir (and as well with their later Neshers I beileve) and got an even better result in the performance envelope of the Mirage III. I guess the Swiss Mirage IIIS and IIIRS where the only Mirage III with canards and its such a bummer, they don't fly anymore. Not so long ago, the airworthyness certificate of the remaining Mirage III which still where maintained by museums and dedicated private clubs was revoked due to the lack of replacement parts and so the Swiss Mirage III stays now grounded forever…
You did an outstanding Job on this image!
