Description

I have had Photoshop 7 for years and it was first released 2002. I recently bought Photoshop CS6 which was first released 2012, I bought it on Ebay a couple weeks ago. Both the Photoshops are old however neither one of them require subscription. I do not want to pay a subscription for using Photoshop. The newer CC versions require a subscription. I wanted to see what I could do with this newer (old) version of Photoshop. I found this speed tutorial by "Learning Screen" on YouTube who uses a newer CC version of Photoshop. The tutorial has no explanation on what is being done just a very quick video on how the image was created. My Photoshop version did not have a couple of tools of the CC version had but it had enough to complete the project and it has more tools than PS7. On my recreation, I decided to leave the tree green and made the shrub pink, added a wolf, lizard and angel statue in the gazebo. It took me many hours and several days to recreate the image. I did learn several new things. Learning Screen of course provided all the photos to create this project. Learning Screen has several amazing YouTube videos on Photoshop projects. If you want to see how this image was actually created, you can use https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE2AsSobOHU or type Learning Screen in the search box on YouTube to view the video on YouTube and see how close I got to recreating the image. Very nice image.
I use Photoshop CS2 as my go-to image manipulation software. I have also played with GIMP, but, as I had been using Photoshop for many years, it is still my first choice.
I, too, disagree with the notion of subscription software which is why I have never 'upgraded' from CS2. I have found that the main limiting factor with the software is me. It can do so much more than my skills permit. :-)
I've always thought that if the software or hardware are not holding back ones creativity, then there is no need to upgrade anyway.

Thank you for your comment. I agree the limiting factor for any software is definitely myself. I started with PS4 then PS5 then PS7 for many years. I just felt it was time for an upgrade. Does not hurt to try and stretch your mind, keeps your mind from getting into a rut.

Awesome scene, I have a CS2 on one of my pc's and gets the job gone. I have the subscription too and like the newer features as well. I use Photoshop to add light bloom effects to a lot of my work, I still have a lot to learn so I will definitely check that you tube out.

I have been using PS for years and following along to create this was fairly easy, but coming up with the content for new and unique art is very challenging for me. I am amazed at Learning Screen's talent for creating new art.

I have had psp before, but I did not enjoy having them constantly send popups wanting me to purchase the newest version.

Paint shop pro does the same thing. if I wanted their product which I do not want it, I would simply purchase it. I almost hate both companies, or at least the programmers

Not sure what popups you were getting. My first photoshop was Photoshop 4 released 1996 and then PS7 not PSCS6. None of them have popups.

Thanks for your comment. Using the brush tool with a feathered edge and the correct pressure the god rays are painted in, then by dabbing the brush to make spots and using a Gaussian blur the fog is created. Learning Screen takes each photo and adjusts the levels until he gets the right brightness and contrast of each photo to make them blend so they all appear to belong in the image. The edge lighting and shadow of each object like the (gazebo and tower) are also brushed in to give the correct lighting effect.

You should watch one or two of Learning Screen videos on YouTuber very talented individual.

Thank you for your comment. I wish I could take full credit, but I just recreated something that someone else created and shared the process. Still, you do need to be familiar with Photoshop to recreate it. However, just knowing how the tools work does not help in creating something new. I need the creative imagination to come up with something new and unique on my own.

An impressive and magnificent composition that far surpasses anything AI is supposed to do. Photoshop is powerful, but it's not as easy to tame as it first appears. You can be very proud of yourself!

Thank you for your comment. I was thinking it is kind of like what an AI might do. Take parts of different photos add some lighting, shadow, brush effects, etc. Create something totally different. I am still learning the tools in CS6. So far so good.

Ensuring that software runs efficiently and smoothly is vital for delivering a seamless user experience. The process involves enhancing speed, reducing resource usage, and minimizing errors. I'm eager optimizing software performance to delve deeper into this field and explore the various techniques and tools available to optimize software performance, ultimately contributing to the success of software projects.

Thank you very much. I just got CS6 extended and what better way to learn what it can do than a tutorial.

I'm impressed that you were able to recreate such a complex project, even though you don't have all the tools, strands hint in the latest version of CC. This shows your creativity and skill in using the tools available; thank you!!!
