Description
Here's the next character design for the comic book short story I'm working on, "Graveyard Shift." The character is a night nurse who feeds off her patients (just a nip or two here and there, what's the problem?). This is her vampiric form (see elsewhere in my gallery for her human form). The base figure is Victoria 4 with LOTS of morphs applied, including Expression Morphs, Morphs ++, RDNA Ultra Morphs, Creature Creator, and more. In this case, I made so many subtle adjustments I can't really keep track of them (to handle her transformation between human and vampire, I'm probably going to export this form as a Full Body Morph so I can show the progression of her transformation over 3-4 panels. I'm working at 800 dpi for the character designs, but will work at 600 dpi for the actual comic pages.
My usual workflow includes making 3 renders in Poser 13 and then compositing them in Clip Studio Paint, where I convert the shading into dot tones and touch up the line art.
I'm mostly pleased with the results, but the hair still needs some work.
I HOPE THIS LOOKS OKAY ONLINE. The dot patterns will be used for print, so I'm presenting the work here with the tones. I'm also showing it in both the blue-tint version I show online (it looks better in the browser) and also the b&w version, which is what will go to print.
