Mira_out_to_Pasture_02 After her chores got to the half-done point, Mira reckoned she had earned a good long soak. So into the steel bath she went, not even bothering to take off her boots or work gloves. Of course she didn’t want to get them wet, choosing instead to let the boots hang over the sides. Everyone always ribbed her about bathing in a hog trough, but Mira kept her tub clean, dry and upside down when not in her use so that the critters wouldn’t get their slobbers in it. Before closing her eyes to the sun, she spied summer heat lightning far off to the West. A storm was brewing out there, probably coming in from near the Colorado line. It may even turn out to be a real gully-washer by the sight of it. Mira started to drift off thinking of Lorenzo’s nicely muscled arms. What she would have seen had her eyes been open was that an irregular assortment of admirers was a starting to flock about.
