Description

He had always been told not to venture to the surface, but his curiosity got the better of him this day. He rode the waves onto the beach, and before he knew it, he was crawling across the warm, soft sand. He stopped suddenly, when he caught sight of something he'd never laid his eyes on before. The figure in the distance mesmerized him. He looked similar to the mermen he'd grown up with, but there was something different about him. How was he moving across this surface above the water, without fins and a tail? He watched, transfixed, as the creature moved slowly toward him. He didn't even notice that his own body was beginning to change.
