Buddy imagined the faceless jester as if he were seeing his back through his closed eyelids. he preferred to imagine his costume and his headdress enamelled with lots of colors, those of childhood. nothing escaped his keen hearing; neither the friction of the air on the balls, nor the enthusiastic applause, nor the amused laughter. All this reinforced the nobility of his heart, even if he suspected that no one would guess the thoughts of a dog.
