Hi everyone!
I am a Hobbyist just having fun with Graphics.
I have been away from this site for a very long time, but I am happy
to be back and look forward to seeing all the wonderful art from the
talented artists who post here at Renderosity.
I work primarily with Poser Pro 2012, 3ds Max 2012 and Adobe
Premiere Pro. It's older software but it works for me :-)
I mostly use V4 and M4 in all my animations. they are easy to work
with and do not take excessive resources away from my PC. I use a
Dell Optiplex 7010. It's a great computer and you can find them cheap
on e-bay.
While I do most of my own modeling using 3ds Max, I primarily model
the environments in which my Poser characters live.I find myself going
to Daz3d and RMP for all my character, texture and clothing needs.
I animate and set up all my characters inside Poser and then transfer
them to Max by using a Fusion Poser/Max plugin. I then set up the lights,
cameras and all needed textures within Max.
I render the animations by using a V-Ray plugin. I use a 2.35 image aspect
ratio on all my video animations. It just gives them a more cinematic look.
I thank you for looking at my Gallery!

I was just thinking, "This must be the voice behind Johnny M" And, darn it! You used the original narrator's voice. Nevertheless, you built this together magnificently. So professional!

Fantastic animation artwork Johnny.

I agree about the animation. I have seen one of the actual cars, maybe at Gateway Museum , if I return to Gateway, Colorado, I might even drive one

Simply the best! One of my all time favorites, the movie and the writer...Stephen King, a master of horror and I loved the fact that he did cameo spots like Alfred Hitchcock did...I wonder where his mind would go to be able to write as he did...now I wonder what would the original Christine would think of her new body Lol! Stunning render and horror touch that leaves you screaming for more but loving your achievement...Once again, you should be making movies! Fabulous work! Happy Halloween my friend:-)

well, Sir J, I checked to be sure I hadn't missed anything from the previous months, and happily I haven't. I went to the web to see the storyline of "Christine," and wow, what a complex story! Not a car I'd like hanging out in my garage...I wonder if the film was part horror, part tongue in cheek...but whatever it was, it was a great basis for your animation.
You definitely have a sense of construction: You begin and end with similar milieus---a dark area, where the car circles around. In the end, it takes off and drives away (perfect "punctuation mark" to your film...and enhanced by the first and only full sound effects of the car...well done.)
Getting back, after circling the car, you then move in close for still shots (where the camera moves, but not the car)---if there were shots of the car in motion, I don't remember them. My point is that you're doing good alteration, from full movement of the car to the car being still (while the camera studies it). You also do some fast rush takes. also effective.
With "she is evil" (from the original soundtrack), you now do closeups and pans over the car---esp from the back and over the top. I know nothing about software animation, but your pans do show the car move by us (from the top view) and gives us a wonderful overview, while the narration provides the chills and the irony that this beautiful car is has horrible capabilities. (Which the plot line certainly affirms! Whoosh---that's not a user-friendly vehicle!)
Your slow pans are very sweet, very well done. I don't know how hard this is in software, but the pans are very smooth. In real camera work, one needs either a very steady crane (or similar) or a steadicam or something similar. (YOu probably know this well, but one of the most stunning set of moving car shots is in the opening of "The Shining" ((Kubrick)), where he has an aeroflex camera---the aereo equivalent of the steadi-cam, where the camera doesn't shake even when the plane does, because of weights etc): And that camera shoots a car weaving through the rocky mountains, to the great soundtrack of Wendy Carlos doing "Dies Irae" (day of wrath, from the middle ages. If you don't know it, just watch the first 10 minutes of the film, you'll probably resonate with it, because of your beautiful work with panning over a car, here.) Your motions in this whole trailer are as smooth as can be. I assume that's to give Christine an even creepier irony: Ie, she moves and looks as smooth as can be...but, underneath, she will devour anyone and anything, and in the most devious ways! (Smooth but deadly.) The smoothness is the irony. Really well done.
And then you finally give us the full sound of the engine starting up---the beast has awakened!---and the thing circles around and takes off. Perfect ending. That's the final "coda" that pulls it all together.
Once more, you've managed to show a lot of intuition and skill in an animation. It moves like film, and your sequences flow very naturally from one to the next. I'm always impressed by how much you put into these short sequences. You're quite intuiive at it. Another fine piece of work by you---I may never drive a car again, but hey....The price we pay for art...very masterfully done, Johnny. I hope your halloween was wonderful, w/ your family and friends, and I hope your november is wonderful as well. Thanks for all your wonderful support!
