Edited for Health Update:
I am going through some health issues and having surgery for it on October 31.
I have had a hiatal hernia for 30 years after moving a heavy desk.
About 2 years ago, I was sitting at my desk, bent over to get something from the floor, and felt my insides shift...literally move around. I thought nothing of it because nothing hurt.
Fast forward to this year. I am blown up like Violet from Willie Wonka. I've gained weight and I feel like I'm having triplets. After months of taking probiotics, taking charcoal and apple cider vinegar gels, changing my diet and quit smoking AFTER 50 years, I am still in the same shape. I can't breathe very well...I hurt really badly after eating...this list goes on. If I try to get up from sitting, I can't breathe. My voice sounds like sandpaper. It's very difficult to talk!! Many, many digestive issues. I had to buy all larger clothes because of the bloat. When I was pregnant each of my sons, they would kick me up under my ribs. It really hurt. Sometimes, after eating, it feels just like that under my ribs. The pain is horrible!!
I have been going to doctors all year. My GP, my gastroenterologist and my pulmonologist. No one would order the tests I wanted, which was a cat scan on my torso. They did several tests, but none that would show the real problem.
The main problem was trying to quit smoking so these doctors would even care that I was in pain and discomfort.
So, 4 months ago, I finally quit smoking. So, I started making more doctor appointments with all of my doctors. My GP appointment was 11/6/23 and my gastroenterologist appointment was 02/05/24.
I would die before then!!! So, I called my gastroenterologist and spoke to her nurse. I begged for them to see me and order a CT scan. She told me to go to the ER...
So, I did!!! They did a CT scan and found the following, which was the most baffling thing I have ever heard of:
My stomach and part of my intestines moved up 6 inches up and is behind my chest bone. My stomach is squishing my lungs and windpipe. Everything is getting squished in my chest!!!
The surgery is going to last 2 to 3 hours and recovery is 2 to 3 months. On top of that, my husband has to have cataract surgery this Thursday. We are quite the couple LOL
So, as I sit here in pain and discomfort, I wanted to make another piece of art. I started it a month ago and just never felt like doing any more until this past Friday.
I think it turned out pretty good!!
************UPDATE****************
I had surgery last Tuesday .
I have an oxygen tank because it's so hard to breathe.
I can talk, but just a little.
I had six holes in my stomach. They hurt so badly and pull.
My diaphragm (the muscle that helps you talk was torn up from my stomach coming out.
When I bent over that day to get something off the floor two years ago, my diaphragm ripped open and my stomach came up.
The doctor had to make a mesh diaphragm and it really is painful when he sewed all together.
Thank you guys so much!!!
How could this be????
The recovery time is 2 to 3 months.
The incisions sting and hurt. My checkup was good yesterday (done yesterday on video call.)
I will get sharp pains in my shoulder and under my left breast. That is gas (bloat) I try to stretch those places out a little for relief.
I am very upset that over a year of hard bloat and gas still isn't going away.
The hardness is sometimes different and I can bend a little. Other times, when I try to sit, my breath is taken away because the hard gas bloat is chocking my windpipe.
Probiotics, Apple Cider Vinegar gells, carbon gells, no straws. no gum, lots of water. I'm going to try a heating pad.
I've had this for 1 1/2 years with it getting worse. My surgeon said he could put my insides back in place, but the bloat (gas) would still be there. He kept saying it in the hospital after surgery, too.
I am going to try to get back in to see my gastroenterologist. I have not seen here in 4 weeks when I had an endoscopy (She broke my front cap off one of my teeth !!!)
I cannot get ANYONE TO TELL ME WHY A DOCTOR can't get this out of me.
It feels like you have eaten a huge Thanksgiving dinner....too much for your small body.....now it's there.... can't get it out! I have normal, daily.... you know what. So, there is not actual food there!!!
I'm telling everyone because I'm asking for any advice.

I have never read the story of Alice through the Looking Glass, but this image is fantastic!
I replied immediately to the email from you on October 8th. But I didn't hear back from you. I thought you had surgery right away, and I was thinking you are currently in the hospital. Now I know the surgery is at the end of the month, you've been feeling anxious all this time. I look forward to your speedy recovery and return to 3d art.

Elleque, I am so sorry!! I have bad days and really bad days. I can't seem to think straight. I know this type of illness can make people anxious and depressed. I already had those things. So, they are worse. I am ashamed that I didn't email back yet, and I certainly intended to. I can't remember things I am supposed to do.

O...M...G!!
Sounds like you need some new doctors - and a lawyer. That is sheer negligence on their part. I should talk.. Many years ago my wife had her gallbladder removed. That was at a time when they had to split you open from chest to abdomen. Now they take it out of a half-inch incision. Anyway one of the surgeons discovered she has a hiatal hernia... but did NOTHING about it! She says sometimes her food hangs up in there, and cusses those doctors when it happened.
Anyway, I hope everything works out well for you, and your recovery is swift and pain-free. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Your work with Alice here is spectacular! Wow!

,,most sensational creation. might i mention that the chess pieces seem to be not totally on the floor. the reflections show it tht way. top notch beauty! i did not see the credit for the outfit itself. where did you get it at please?
jan_scrapper
Can you believe I worked with this for days and days and overlooked floating chess pieces???? I am so OCD about that and what do I do??? I know better :(
The outfit is at Daz - VI Circus - Jester, by Lady Littlefox. One of the best outfits ever!! Very detailed!! I would post the link, but not allowed.
I hope I feel like redoing this soon.
Thank you for your well wishes.
