Description
Our world we live in has evolved and have grown in leaps and bounds. As it gets bigger the small things go unnoticed ever more. There may be another realm lost to our view, one where the mystical combines with the physical form. I can imagine this place, not like some special wonderful little world, but just beneath our feet may be such a place. Driven out of our minds and dreams is a much different realm special in its own way, magical, mystical and endearing. If you choose to look, beyond our mechanized, electrified and concrete world we may discover something lost to time. As children we felt it, dreamed it but was told it is just a child's fantasy. But is it?
I have thought about this many times in my life, what if it was real? We may not be able to see it, the realm may be cloaked. Not by some technology but perhaps something as simple as a shift in spectrum visibility. Humans see a tiny bit of the electromagnetic spectrum. We only see 0.0035% of the spectrum. What if something existed in a different part of the spectrum? It would simply be totally invisible to us in our normal lives. There are many creatures on this planet that can see a much larger part of the spectrum than humans. Why would a Mantis Shrimp be able to see most of the Ultraviolet spectrum in the oceans, why does a Butterfly have a visible spectrum greater than any animal on land seeing deep into the ultraviolet range.
Humans have only three photoreceptors, but a peacock mantis shrimp has 16 photoreceptors, that's 5.3 times more than a human. While the spectrum may be wider for specific reasons like finding a mate or locating food. But it still only a tiny part of the full spectrum.
