So I'm thinking, I guess when it is cold outside and the wind is blowing, the beard does provide a small modicum of protection. I can speak from experience having wintered in North Dakota in my younger years. I sported a pretty good sized beard some winters. Only drawback sometimes what that it would get all iced up from my breath when it was really cold! LOL.
