Hi! I'm Hilda Starseer (the first name's real, the surname isn't... hey, it's the internet!).
I'm a 53 y.o. biological female (last time I checked with my gynecologist, my birth certificate, and in the shower) and if you haven't figured it out by now, a Gen-Xer. Now that means I won't purposely go out of my way to offend anyone, but poopoo happens. So if I do wind up offending you with one of my posts... suck it up buttercup, get over it and move on. I don't have the patience or the time to play silly snowflake games. There's an old axiom about how it is wise not to argue with idiots... it'll only bring you down to their level and they'll always win with the advantage of experience.
What my ultimate goal is, is to become the best story writer / illustrator I can. And from what I've heard through my friends that have been Renderosity members for years, that this is the place where that can happen. So, I'm looking forward to everybody's comments, critiques and advise that I receive. (I almost said tips there instead of advise until I realized the "Tip Button" and what it is for... hey, don't get me wrong, it will definitely be appreciated, but definitely is not expected.)
So to everyone that has been welcoming me to the site, it is greatly appreciated and I hope I can deliver on what you may be expecting.
Take care, folks and hope to see you around.
Hilda

Wonderfully done illustrations to go with an intriguing story. You also said you welcomed critique, so, I have one, and it's only my opinion, and can't be certain without seeing it both ways, but the centered text for me seemed to be throwing off the pacing of the story. If they were captions, centered would definitely make the most sense, but you're writing a story, so left justified might keep the pacing on track better because that's the way our eyes were trained to read.

Thank you for the input, I'll try that on my next installment and see how it works out.

Really amazing images and excellent story. Opening in full image is the only way to view your intriguing story. Excellent work!

Appreciate the comment.
I noticed on my first posting about how in default view, it was very hard to read the narrative... so I put a 'P.S.' in the description area recommending full size view.

I sincerely appreciate your gracious comment.

This is wonderfully done, Hilda! The art is outstanding, and I love the dialogue. The age of honor and respect - not like today, mostly.
Superb work!

In Lost Ark, the continent of Anikka (where Kara is from) is based in Asian (Oriental to be nonPC) culture and is a haven for the martial arts. Even today, there is still high respect for elder people in these places, though it does seem to be waning (thanks mainly to western influences), which is unfortunate.
And honor is attained through one's words and actions, and how true one is to both... not as it seems nowadays, by the number in your bank account.
I was raised to respect all people, especially the elders and intend to continue to do so... even if it's not a "trending" notion. If it bothers some people, they are more than welcome not to read my story and move on.
