Description
My PC suddenly powered down earlier today with a strange burning smell, and this splitter cable - quite an old one - turned out to be the culprit. After pulling it out of the machine, it's back to normal, though the multibox outlet it was connected to no longer works. Talk about a near miss.

good you were there to shut off the power. a surge knocked out my newer desktop and I lost a loaded (120GB) digital hard drive

Always something with this tech-y stuff.... I've become somewhat of a hoarder of digital content, after losing a ton of stuff years ago. Now I have multi-backups of all my art, photos, business records, etc.. Glad it's working for you again!
