Description

One more caterpillar... as a kid, this was probably my first encounter with a Caterpillar... the Black Woolly (although through the rest of the US, the Woolly Bear (with orange in the middle) is most common). This caterpillar is found in the Southwestern United States and the bordering parts of Mexico. This species is a generalist feeder, consuming many plant species, including herbs and trees. This caterpillar does typically cause irritation, injury, inflammation, or swelling. Handling the caterpillar is discouraged, because their sharp, spiny hairs may cause dermatitis in some people. It becomes the Painted Tiger Moth.

You are a fantastic modeler of all kind of animals! You must be afraid about the vanishing of so many wild species!
