Description
'Gwaseilio' is Welsh for a time of celebration and enjoyment
over the period we now call Christmas, that is from Epiphany
to '12th night'. The celebrations are diverse and encompass a
wide mix of cultural traditions ancient and modern to celebrate the
passing of the winter solstice and the beginning of a period of
agricultural production. The figure dressed in a white sheet
wearing a horse's skull is called the 'Mari Lwyd'.
