Description
The burdens of command weighed heavily upon her. She was determined to avoid the eradication of her peoples existence. There were already so few of them left now. And this small scouting probe was only a part of that plan. Normally, the view of the stars brought her some solace. Not tonight.
Her daughter was out there somewhere; using her skills and talents to locate someone who could possibly aid them in their journey to escape.
They had always kept to the outer regions, well away from transit lanes on know civilizations that were in alliance to those that sought them.
Hiding within the mists of nebulas and dangerous regions that others avoided; those had become their refuge.
She sighed softly, with all else that was troubling her mind and command; tonight she also carried the fears of a mother upon her shoulders.
She was out there; amongst their enemies. Seeking one individual she thought could lead them to safety.
They were engineers, ship designers and builders. Now they were forced to be survivalists and warriors. It seemed at times that they were struggling against fate; to many, it wasn't if, it was when.
It was bad, especially for the children and the young; even more so for the mothers.
Now; she waited.

Great story - and a completely new twist - who is she and where from? Keeping us guessing!

She stands alone between her people and their enemy. An enemy that will be a big shock.

thank you so much. A remarkable lady in France taught me that. I'm not nearly as good as she was though.
