I'm often surprised that car covers are not more popular. Automobiles cost a fortune, You'd think water-resistant car covers would be taken for granted in winter. They rarely cost more than $150.

I wonder if the tarp making contact with the car paint causes any scratches when the wind blows it from the side.

Hmm, not sure. They are bound pretty tight typically though so hopefully not
