Description

Description Lights flashed and klaxon blared as somewhere in the near distant darkness another set of torpedoes locked onto the ESS Defense Cruiser: “North Star” which was shaken in a series of secondary explosions coming from somewhere in her aft sections. The bridge crew looked on in horror as a larger set of silent “blossoms of fire painted their way across the rear view from the Bridge tower and in those same silent expanses of extreme light several of the massive ships’ engines had broken from their housings and where now beginning a downward journey into the gravity well of the below world they had all sworn to protect. And in that minor pause in the thoughts of the crew that either were watching or knew of the path that one of the very crucial Major systems of the “North Star’ was not only defunct. But was now falling victim to the cruel irony of those previous intense seconds of calamitous events—those massive engines would not only be able to propel the ship in whatever direction that the captain had need of. But those engines were now caught in the pull of the planet’s gravity, and they had zero control of their own course let alone their fate. If there was any bridge crew lost in the whimsical terror of those last moments of the ship engines, those thoughts were ended a quarter second later as the bridge was ripped asunder as particle beam that tore through the bridge, as the roar of the beam blasted through the air just before the artificial atmosphere and bridge crew were blown out into space. The final seconds of the ships air and last remaining bulkhead with any structural integrity remaining formed a threshold of the millennia of dead silence of the shattered remains of the once proud Defense Cruiser as the final decks collapsed under their own weight. Now this noble ship floats a seeming eternity of twisted metal and silence…. No actual "Damage" was done to this amazing model by Polish. I used mostly a series of Pbr Shaders to punch holes in the hull and break the bridge , decks and flight decks as well as some of the cannons. I used some modeled debris odds and ends and then "turned off" the engines using geometry:cutout... in some of the shaders. Finally I created,--again just using shaders--some "damage cubes " that depict the flayed decks and bulk heads.
