"Luna prov shedat sib iep xuw!"...
Milly woke with a start, the words ringing in her ears.
"You cannot run away from me!"
Run away from who?
Where was she anyway? She looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings. The light of the morning sun filtered through the windows, and some lamps were scattered across the room but it was still too dark to see well. She determined that she was in some strange bedroom, and definitely not anywhere in the castle. A chilly wind blew. She felt cold...exposed...her head throbbed in pain. What the hell happened?
Looking down, she gave a tiny yelp. Her clothes were gone. In their place...She blinked. What in the world was she wearing?
Definitely not from her wardrobe. Another shocking thought hit her, causing her cheeks to turn scarlet : who put it on her?
She tried to move, and at once a wave of nausea flooded her senses.
She groaned and held her head
"Better not move for a while young lady."
Milly nearly jumped in shock, covering herself.
A wizened looking man emerged from the shadows and approached the bed.
Milly shrank back, but was too weak to move far.
"Easy now," he said, his voice soothing but firm. "You've...been through a lot."
She was breathing heavily, trying to stay calm, but instead felt vexed.
"Who are you?" she demanded, trying to sound commanding, but coming across a little shrill. "Where am I?"
The man remained silent, simply looking at her - or more like, through her. Milly shivered, suddenly aware of her state of...exposure.
"Did you do this?" she indicated her attire, feeling her face redden. Hopefully he'd take it as a sign of anger more than anything else. "And where are my clothes?"
The man held up his hands, looking slightly apologetic. "I've burned them."
Milly glared at him questioningly.
"They were ripped to shreds," he offered without elaboration.
Milly's nostrils flared, but she had to ask something else more important.
"And your w-wife, or maid, put these on, right?" she asked, somewhat hopefully.
The man looked at the ceiling. "No, I did."
Milly blushed furiously.
The man shrugged, "Oh, don't worry you're so not my type."
