Working on textures and hitting a stump any ideas would be wonderfully appreciated...:)

This is an awesome POV. As far as texturing goes, maybe a little WWII decal work with some stylized armor plating that looks like the shapes off of the Enterprise D's hull texture. If I think of anything else, I'll drop you a line.

Cool concept, very interesting design. Surfacing on the cockpit canopy might be improved with a slightly different specularity setting. I agree that some panelling might help break the blurry effect of the procedural texture (fractal reflection map?).

Hmmm For the wings, I would suggest something like a granular bump map. If it's a deep space fighter, it's going to have little pock marks and dents where minute space junk has gotten through it's sheilds(sheilds are designed to protect the ships from most, but not all forms of space debris. It is concievable that something small would have gotten through the shields and made a small dent or pock mark).
On the panels, I would with what Flashone said, a little stylized armor plating. That, or you could make them into a kind of solar panel and a reflection. Either way, it'll look good!
