try and increase the haze settings in skylab to create a darker murky feel to the water. perhaps using the same sky mat for the underwater scene as the top scene to provide continuity. The camera angle on the ship is a little to high, but the overall concept is very good. Hope I don't sound too negative just trying to help

You've stumbled upon one of the most difficult things to achieve in Bryce (IMHO), the over-underwater split image... it's a good try, really, but you won't accomplish the effect if you look at the scene from so high a POV. About haze orbital has already said all :)

i seem to recall reading in the forums i belive or maybe the tuts about camera angles and acheiving the above below look. try looking around for tuts. if i run into it again i will message you with the url. Your pics have great potential. Time is as you mentioned relitive. I used to sometimes catch myself only doing images i could finish in one sitting even if that sitting was 12 hours long lol! sometimes we have to just save it and come back a few times and push some buttons and you will be amazed at how your pics will start acheiving more realizm. also there are many free underwater presets available for bryce in the free sections of places like rosity and 3d comune. keep up the great work!
