Description

I am not a pro photographer, nor do I have a studio. The pictures I take with my camera are used to make skin suits and textures for mesh based clothes. For a skin suit, 3,000x3,000 the picture above is scaled to 50%. I edit it in the larger size to make it easier to extract parts. Pictures like this can be used in more than 4 ways. First, they can be grey scaled and overlayed onto tiled patterns.(Like a bump map in Poser). Second: Parts like pockets can be used as templates to get shapes. Third: Shadows from creases, these are amazingly hard to draw by hand. Fourth, and this is the main thing, sewing. I can't find anywhere a program that produces realistic sewing or hems. My photos are quite big. For the complete set of photos for this pair of jeans the zipped size is 10MB. Consider the limitations of their quality and how useful they might be. Is anyone interested in this set as a freebie? One result is shown in my image 'Paintshop pro 8'

Thank you UteBigSmile, I was trying to work out a way to make producing textures for cloth easier. Most people have some sort of camera and their favourite types of cloth. In theory they could personalise some of their cloth content. It would be great if I could work out a system of doing a bit more than simple tiled textures. I did find this more challenging than I expected, the big factors were file sizes and lighting. But I did work out quite a lot of the peramiters and limitations of the project.
