Description

Originally uploaded here, but that URL became a spam magnet. Admin advised me that the only workarounds were (a) to block comments, which I did a couple of weeks ago), or (b) delete it and reupload, which I'm in the process of doing here. After successfully photographing the first and second damselflies I continued wandering around for the rest of the day looking for cooperative subjects... :) This picture was the third and last damselfly of the day that I managed to get a reasonable photo of. It wasn't as cooperative as the others. When it flew away, it always returned... but to a slightly higher leaf. And there was an occasional breeze, which meant that when I tapped the screen to focus I usually missed. This is a simple crop from the best photo I got of it. The original 4160x3120 photo was taken with the built-in camera of a Vivo Y91i (1816) idiotphone. Photo details: ISO152, 4.52mm, f2.2, 1/100s, no flash After some minimal research my best guess is that this may be a female Neurobasis chinensis. Female because the wings all appear to be transparent.
