I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

I hear you're roar, I feel the same way what's the point of trying to produce art that invokes. I too am torn, but like you I can't stop creating what can be done with Poser today. Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree? I don't know at this point.

Excellent creation, very gorgeous lady and fine-looking caddy. Nice lighting.
May situation is I get tired of someone posting and I leave a comment after comment on their art, and after several times they left zero feedback or comments on the one post that I uploaded I just stop commenting on their creations. I think that is being fair.

I'm glad to hear that you're not leaving. I, for one, appreciate your hard work and I love reading about the adventures of the girls.

I'm sooo on your side Rod. I thought as well, that the AI crap some how would fade and obviously Rendo did some things, to flatten that wave of AI images I believe, but it somehow looks, like it was just the valley between the waves… How ever, it all somehow just took me the desire and the joy to spend much time here (which on the other hand just punishes those, who - as you described - put a lot of effort into their work, people like you and me e.g.). Furthermore it discouraged me to post a lot of images my self snd I intensified my time on the whole RC flying hobby (which isn't bad either, but neglecting the once so great Community here). How ever, should you ever decide to move to some other place (if there is ever any) just don't leave without telling us, where you could be found
A_Sunbeam
Opened up Rendo to be presented with a gallery page with eight obviously AI images, a further 8 by someone else immediately below those, and then ... interspersed with the odd single non-AI image.

I cannot imagine anybody not supporting you wholeheartedly Rod. I have a suggestion that by reducing the number of posts per day that might discourage this spamming. I have tried AI and have created numerous images in seconds but I'm bored already and will only use it on very rare occasions and NOT to post on here. I would imagine it is like any new toy, a majority of folk will get tired of posting all the time and with the knowledge that they are not skilled artists.

I really understand you...I feel the same way. I've always tried to take good quality pictures (at least from my point of view). Back then, what felt like hundreds of years ago, I got a lot of comments that were also serious, now you need a lobby and then you can upload any sh. And then also the pictures with only slightly changed things. I aspire to take "good" pictures and that sometimes takes a long time. I still have no idea how things will continue here, but for now I'm "playing". However, I have the feeling that the people I'm holding up a mirror to don't even notice. I miss the old days...

if u leave they would have won Rod. i don't think rendo will fix this issue. when i first joined rendo in the beginning rendo did have a limit of 3 per non members and 5 by paid ones. maybe they should return to this format. glad your going to stay my friend. i would miss all your brilliant creations like this one. cool plate for your issue.

I totally agree, and as a matter of fact, I've seen over the years that several other people have complained about this in the community forums. I hate it too! The Renderosity rules says you can post up to, I think, 6 renders in one day. I definitely think they should lower that to maybe two because like you said, and I totally agree, they will post six renders of the same...crap!... only in different positions with little to no inspiration or artistic talent or quality. Just Crap! Why don't they post the one render and then, insert the rest of their crap into additional frames provided in the Upload your Art page with as many as they want. Crap, you got me going. By the way, I love you work.

I just stopped by your "Official Girls From T.N.A." Website and think I'm going to go shopping!

I'm glad you're staying here! Some people just don't want to hear the truth and if you used the bad sp*** word they see red anyway. Maybe a more subtle proposal could have found open ears: why can't we have a filter option for artists we don't want to see? And another option for those we prefer? (just my small cent to that topic)

Sir Rod, hope your Sunday is fantastic! I miss you. my friend! (HUGS) I always look up to you and admire you, intelligence with a sense of humor is the best weapon you can have. I'm banned from the Forums for good. You ban me... you think I'm going to buy anything from your store ever again, hell no!
I wish you a wonderful Sunday, my friend! Hug Jo and tell her you love her... EVERY DAY!! You are AWESOME!!!
RodS
Whaaaaaat?? Banned for good? WTF is up with that? That's crazy! I've wondered where you've been, Rick! I'm so sorry this happened to you, my friend - I miss you as well! And I certainly don't blame you for not buying from the MP.
I don't know what has happened to this site, but it sure isn't even close to the "good ol' days" when I joined. Hopefully it's just a phase it's going through, and things will improve. I hope...
Thank you, so much, Rick! You've certainly picked my spirits up!
And they'll be floating in the sky if the Chiefs bring home another SB victory! 😁

I too browse the galleries far less nowadays because of the repetitive imagery. The real problem is the current rewards scheme which rewards quantity when it ought to reward quality. I don't see it changing any time soon, but I would still rather people didn't give in to it and just vanish. If you do that you're contributing to the decline of the galleries, by not posting some of your real 3D work that had some effort put into it.
I would rather see your stuff as well as the junk than just see the junk!
RodS
Not to worry, my friend! I'm not going to hand those "junkers" that kind of easy victory. I'll take a lesson from my Chiefs - they never gave up, and look what happened!

Lots of us have got some roots around here eh? Your concerns are most valid my friend and hopefully someone someday, see's the mess in the garden. It seems some common sense post control is in order. In the meantime, thanks for staying and playing.

The never ending parade of garbage images are why I just go to my e-mail to see what the people I follow have put out lately.
TwiztidKidd
LOL! Best of luck to your favorite team, GO CHIEFS!! I like you soooo much, Sir Rod!! Please know that I'm never gonna give you up and never gonna let you down... never gonna run around and desert you!
Everyone with a heart knows that you're right, my friend! Keep up the fantastic work! (BIG HUG)

Chiefs won and what a great game it was to :)
What can I add to the obvious based on your words...well I agree but the solution seems unattainable. If this site gets run into the ground cause it has lost direction them it is what it is. For now I create and post as the urge hits me and avoid the new art and trending pages cause I get a cramp from clicking, clicking and clicking to find works that interest me, inspire me.
Nobody's fault really just not much art on here of late in any genre I like, so maybe I am just to picky and loath the flooding.
Have a great one Rod and enjoy what you do and part of what you do is bring us joy with your art :)

I appreciate that the Admins "allow" some free discussion, and hope they realize.
At one time, posting a single image could not convey my message, in "photography", and I was limited to a single image. The dam seems to have broken, with regard to memory / space usage, so it's perfectly natural to explore beyond yesterday's borders.
I usually refrain from comment, except for approvals, but as a member of THE WALL, dating back to about 2003 or so, I figure that I am entitled to an opinion. My area of "expertise" is an appreciated sideline of the direct mission here, so I try not to be obtrusive. The creative artists who use all these intricate little "pieces" to share their thoughts and talents are the heart of Renderosity, and I hope that the "artist in charge" will find a compromise for this disparity ... until then, be patient and enjoy neglected areas of Rendo.
UteBigSmile
Gosh little brother, please dont do this to me, I only stay for my remaining good friends too, because after this "special leave of one month in April 2024" I don't have many friends left and because I only create now AI's for health reasons, I am also shunned by some artists, that's all I want to say!!!!
Just enjoy what you do and continue to bring me and all your other good friends a lot of fun with your special artworks, keep your head up even if your neck is dirty.! 😊
RodS
Hey, Ute!
No worries, hon! I love ya, and wouldn't do anything to hurt you. Your AIs are wonderful, and it's a blessing that it allows you to do what you love - and that is truly good! You keep on creating, sis, and I'll keep looking and commenting! I'm not going anywhere - staying right here! With friends like you and Jim (below), I can't leave! You just keep on rocking, Ute!

Rod,
You gotta let this go. Remember not so long ago, I was upset that you were dragging politics into Renderosity? Remember I felt like dropping out all together because I felt some of the zings personally? I had to let it go. I was taking things personally that were not meant that way.
I think you are taking the affront of AI "art" much to personally. It's got you completely distracted from any actual production. You posted what must be a dozen different images of the girl wearing the BS shirt (which, I grant is funny) to what end? It ate up your time and drug you down to the level of those you are upset with. Now your bummed out that the effort didn't accomplish anything. A very good friend of mine told me "In every conversation, the other person is fighting a battle you know nothing about." I know nothing about the battle you are fighting, but I see what it's doing to you. Fighting this battle is killing you. This second ban is just more weight you do not have to carry.
On a similar note, you know nothing of the battles these AI posters are fighting, you only see the result that you are reacting to. Ute just above me makes a great point; in her case she has become limited in what she can do and AI is a way for her to beat her limitations. I knew nothing of her battle until she shared it here. The AI she posts is her weapon she fights her battle with. How many others have found AI to be a weapon they can fight their battles with?
I'm not beating you up Rod, I'm a friend. What I'm doing here is maybe triage? There are things you deal with because they need to be addressed and you have the assets to do it with. Then there are things you should let go because you can't address them effectively; no matter how badly they need to be addressed (perhaps not at all). Consider what it is AI does to you, what does it cost you really? Does it actually cost you or does it just offend your sensibilities? In my case, the political jabs just offended my sensibilities and I was not able to confront them effectively. Then I realized I didn't actually need to confront them; they weren't actually costing me anything beyond a bruised ego. I don't pay bills with my ego. It doesn't matter. I let it go.
Rod, let this go. Forget it. Forget about it. It's a battle you don't need to fight. Get back on the front line, man your post/I mean Poser, and get the girls back into the battle against the V'Soth! That's a battle you can fight effectively and its one worth fighting.
I love you Rod, I wouldn't come after you like this if I didn't. Call me Sunday afternoon or anytime Monday, if I don't answer, I'll call you back.
RodS
OK... Now here is a shining example of what a REAL friend is all about.
Same with Ute's comment above Jim's. And you both are right. It's not something I have any kind of control over, so why stress myself out over it? Why waste my time fighting it when all I'm likely to get is another 7-day ban? I'm done with it.
Thank you, Jim! I needed this. Onward and upward! I'll give you a call later today. When the tears stop... 😉

I hear you, and tend to agree. Its increasingly difficult to separate wheat from chaff, and the generation of quantity over quality could so easily be solved with a bit of willing. To me its not an AI issue specifically; AI is just a tool and in the right hands i capable of exceptional and stimulating work . I too have slowed right down on the production of Skytown pages, as a spread takes several weeks of work, and probably only gets a dozen views, which is quite dscouraging... but i have friends here and there are still great artists i follow so for now its matter of sucking it up and keeping going
Radar_rad-dude
You really got a nice stream of reactions to your 'stress relief effort' my friend! I'll bet even though you might not have felt it at the time, you are now feeling a little bit better that you did expend the effort to blow off some very justifiable steam! I applaud you my friend! Many fine accolades and praises from me!
