D'après Joseph Mallord William Turner et Frederik Hendrik Kaemmerer
Je commence une nouvelle mini-série de 6 images. Face à l’agression de plus en plus fréquente des tableaux dans les musées, certains personnels de ces lieux ont décidé de réagir de manière non violente à cette situation. Remarquant que les grands tableaux avaient souvent pour sujet la peinture d’histoire, et notamment les scènes de bataille, ce couple a envisagé des sortes de happening devant ces grandes machines pour en minorer la violence visuelle. Hormis les tableaux que je reproduis dans ces saynètes, tous le reste est pure fiction tirée de mon imaginaire.
Bienvenue dans les musées en dehors des heures d’ouverture officielles.

I'm starting a new mini-series of 6 images. Faced with the increasingly frequent attacks on paintings in museums, certain staff in these places have decided to react non-violently to this situation. Noting that the large paintings often had history painting as their subject, and in particular battle scenes, this couple envisaged a sort of happening in front of these large machines to minimize the visual violence. Apart from the paintings that I reproduce in these sketches, everything else is pure fiction drawn from my imagination.

Je ne connaissais pas Frederik Hendrik Kaemmerer. Pour un élève de Jean-Léon Gérome, il a nettement dépassé le maître question technique.

Encore une fois, j'aime le côté frivole de la scène d'embarquement de Kaemmerer, par opposition à l'emphase de la bataille de Trafalgar de Turner, tableau de commande. De là, à dire que ma saynète énonce une tentative d'abordage...:)

Fantastic romance scene. I think I saw that painting of the ship battle at the Louvre in Paris. Great job in recreating it.
